Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026
Addenda is a browser extension that helps you track Canadian public-procurement postings you are already viewing and shows what changed (addenda, deadlines, documents). This policy explains exactly what it does and does not do with your data.
- Your tracked postings and settings stay on your device, in the browser's local extension storage. Addenda has no server of its own and does not collect, sell, or share your bids or browsing.
- Addenda makes a network request in only two situations, and neither carries the postings you track or the pages you visit: (1) a licence check to ExtensionPay, our payment provider; and (2) only if you choose to link a Cornerstone Contracts account, an entitlement check to cornerstonecontracts.com that confirms whether your Cornerstone subscription includes Addenda Pro. If you never link an account, the second request is never made.
- PDFs you compare with the document-redline feature are read locally in your browser. They are never uploaded anywhere.
What is stored, and where
Stored locally in chrome.storage.local on your device:
- Opportunities you choose to track: the posting URL, title, reference number, status, closing date, a text snapshot used to detect changes, and an append-only history of the changes you have acknowledged.
- Your settings: fit keywords, the closing-soon window, notification/nudge toggles, the appearance theme, and any portals you have switched the overlay off for.
This data never leaves your browser except when you explicitly export it yourself (CSV).
Network use (licensing only)
To process payments and verify your subscription, Addenda uses ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com), which handles billing via Stripe. When you start a trial or subscribe, ExtensionPay/Stripe process the information you enter at checkout (e.g., email and payment details) under their own privacy policies. Addenda itself receives only your licence status (free / trial / paid). Addenda sends no tracked postings, document contents, or browsing history to ExtensionPay or anyone else.
Cornerstone account link (optional)
If you are a Cornerstone Contracts subscriber, you can link your account so a paid Cornerstone plan unlocks Addenda Pro automatically — no separate purchase. This is entirely opt-in: it happens only when you click Connect in Settings → Cornerstone account and sign in on cornerstonecontracts.com.
- What is sent: when you connect, the Cornerstone website hands the
extension a short-lived, signed entitlement token plus your plan status (Pro / Enterprise /
Free). Periodically (about once a day, plus when you connect and on browser startup) the
extension sends that token back to
cornerstonecontracts.comto re-confirm your current plan, so a cancellation is reflected here. These requests carry only the token and return only your plan and an Addenda-Pro yes/no — never your tracked postings, documents, or browsing. - What is stored: the token, your plan, and its expiry are kept in
chrome.storage.localon your device, like your other settings. - Your control: unlink any time with Settings → Cornerstone account → Disconnect, which deletes the stored token. If you never link an account, no request to cornerstonecontracts.com is ever made.
What Addenda does not do
- No analytics, telemetry, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting.
- No background crawling or fetching of portal pages — Addenda only reads the page you are already viewing.
- No advertising. No selling or renting of personal data.
- No collection of data from children; the extension is intended for professional use.
Your control
- Delete everything any time: Settings → Data → Delete all tracked opportunities, or remove the extension. Uninstalling clears its local storage.
- The official portal posting and its documents are always authoritative; Addenda is an assistive overlay.
