REQUEST FOR PREQUALIFICATION - FIRE STATION FIVE DESIGN BUILDER

Issued by: CITY OF FREDERICTON Published: 2026/09/16 09:36 The City of Fredericton (the "Local Government") is issuing this Request for Prequalification ("RFPQ") to identify qualified Design-Build Teams with the experience, capabilities, and organizational resources necessary to undertake the planning, design, and construction of Fire Station Five (5) (the "Project"). The Project is intended to be constructed as a post-disaster facility, with an underlying emphasis on resilience, reliability, and continuity of operations during and following disruptive events. The Project will also be developed in accordance with the City of Fredericton's Green Building Guidelines and is expected to incorporate biophilic design principles that support firefighter wellness, occupant health, and connection to the natural environment. Detailed project-specific requirements will be provided through any Subsequent RFP. The purpose of this RFPQ is to establish a shortlist of Proponents that may be invited to participate in a subsequent Request for Proposal ("Subsequent RFP") for the Project. Through this RFPQ process, the Local Government intends to evaluate the qualifications, relevant experience, organizational capability, team composition, and overall capacity of Proponents to undertake projects of a similar scope, scale, complexity, and operational significance. This RFPQ is intended solely as a prequalification process. No contract will be awarded as a result of this RFPQ, and no pricing, design concepts, technical solutions, project-specific methodologies, execution plans, schedules, or commercial proposals are being requested at this stage. The focus of this RFPQ is the evaluation of qualifications and experience only. The Local Government anticipates shortlisting up to five (5) Proponents through this RFPQ process. Only Shortlisted Proponents may be invited to participate in any Subsequent RFP that may be issued for the Project. The Local Government makes no commitment that a Subsequent RFP will be issued, nor that any Shortlisted Proponent will be invited to participate in future procurement opportunities.
