Scope

Organization: Environment and Protected Areas Alberta’s population and economy are growing and demand for water from communities, agriculture and industry is increasing. Alberta is working to enhance water availability and security, including but not limited to, evaluating water storage and infrastructure opportunities to increase our water security and reduce the risks posed by floods and droughts for generations to come. Alberta’s water storage and infrastructure plan must meet the needs of citizens and industries, balance cultural, social, economic, environmental and technical considerations, and provide sound investments for the province. The water storage and infrastructure plan will build on previous studies and will be informed by: • Reviewing funding and delivery approaches for water infrastructure; • Identifying long-term water storage needs (the focus of this project); • Standardizing cost-benefit assessments for water, infrastructure; and. • Completing technical evaluations of potential water storge and related infrastructure projects The intent of the Water Storage Needs Assessment project is to evaluate current and future water needs across the province and develop a visualization tool to understand existing and projected water need trends for a range of potential scenarios. Submission: Proposals must be submitted electronically, via email, in Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat format by the RFP Closing Date and Time to the following email address: EPA.WatershedResilience@gov.ab.ca. The email subject line should indicate that it is a Proposal and include the RFP number and title. The complete Proposal should be in one (1) email, including attachments, and should not be larger than 25MB to facilitate receipt by the Province. If multiple emails are required to accommodate attachment sizes, the emails should provide clear instructions on how the Proposal is to be integrated (e.g. 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3).
