Issued by: Town of Battleford The Town of Battleford is requesting proposals from qualified and experienced law firms or lawyers to provide contracted legal services. The Municipality is seeking a legal service provider that has experience working with Saskatchewan municipalities and can provide timely, practical and cost-effective legal advice to Council, the CAO, and municipal administration. The successful proponent will be expected to provide legal services on an as-needed basis and may be requested to attend Council meetings, committee meetings, or other municipal meetings when required. The Municipality intends to establish a professional relationship with a legal service provider who understands municipal operations and can provide both routine and specialized legal services. The Municipality provides a range of municipal services and conducts activities including, but not limited to:Municipal administrationBylaw development/enforcementPlanning/developmentLand/property transactionsRoads/infrastructureWater/sewer servicesParks/recreational facilitiesAgreements/contractsProcurementEmployment/HRMunicipal taxation/assessmentCouncil/committee governanceOther municipal functions The successful proponent will be expected to:Provide timely and professional legal adviceRespond promptly to requests from the CAO or authorized municipal representativesIdentify potential legal risks and provide practical recommendationsMaintain confidentiality of all municipal information & professional liability insuranceCompl
