Scope

Issued by: City of Saskatoon The City of Saskatoon is developing a 40,000-tonne Organics Processing Facility (OPF) to support the diversion of residential and industrial, commercial, and institutional organic waste. The OPF is currently planned for commissioning by August 2027, subject to the coordination of construction, equipment installation, and commissioning activities across multiple project components. The procurement of a stationary electric shredder forms a key element of this program. Proponents are expected to recognize that delivery, installation, and commissioning of the shredder must be coordinated with the overall OPF schedule, including integration with building readiness, electrical works, and facility commissioning activities. The shredder will be installed within the OPF Receiving Building. The Receiving Building has been designed to accommodate shredding and material handling operations and includes tipping floor areas, push walls, overhead services, conveyors, access doors, and associated structural and civil works. A wheel loader will be used to transfer organic material into the proposed stationary shredder.
